Our Promise to You

We believe every bottle that reaches your hands should arrive ready to be sprayed, savored, and layered into your signature scent. Because we partner directly with authentic fragrance suppliers to offer you the lowest prices on brand-name perfumes, we wrote this policy clearly so there are no surprises. Please read gently. We wrote it that way on purpose.

Eligibility for Returns

We accept returns only under the following conditions within 7 days of delivery:

Damaged or broken items are eligible for a full refund. Defective items such as faulty sprayers or leaking bottles are eligible for a full refund. Wrong items sent to you are eligible for a full refund or correct replacement. Items showing excessive use beyond normal testing are eligible only for a partial refund at our discretion.

We do not accept returns if you changed your mind about the scent, did not like the fragrance after trying it, ordered the wrong item by mistake, or found a better price elsewhere.

Non-Returnable Items

The following items cannot be returned under any circumstances: opened or used perfumes, colognes, and body sprays for hygiene and safety reasons; opened or used lotions and creams; gift cards; final sale or clearance items explicitly marked as such; and items returned without original packaging.

If your purchase falls into one of these categories and is not damaged or defective, we cannot issue a refund or exchange.

Damaged Defective or Wrong Items

This is the only situation where we accept returns. If your fragrance arrives damaged, defective, or if we sent you the wrong item, we will make it right immediately. You must contact us within 7 days of delivery.

To file a claim, take clear well-lit photos showing the damaged or incorrect product, the original packaging including box and protective materials, and the shipping label showing your order number and delivery date. For damaged items, include at least one photo showing the specific damage such as a cracked bottle, leaking liquid, or broken sprayer.

Email your proof to returns@vanillaperfumelayering.com with the subject line Damaged Order followed by your order number. Include your order number, a brief description of the issue, and attached photos or video if helpful.

We will review your request within 2 to 3 business days. If approved, we will provide you with a return shipping label and instructions for returning the item.

Repackage the damaged or incorrect item using the original packaging. Affix the provided return label and send it to the address we provide.

If the item is confirmed damaged, defective, or wrong, you will receive a full refund of the product cost plus shipping. If the item shows excessive use beyond normal testing, you will receive a partial refund at our discretion. If there is no evidence of damage or error, no refund will be issued and the item will be returned to you at your cost.

A small fee of 6.95 will be deducted from your refund if you use our provided return label.

Items Used in Excess

We understand customers must open items before determining if they like the scent. A small spray to test is normal. However, if an item shows excessive use meaning more than 10 to 15 percent of the bottle missing, you will only receive a partial refund at our discretion. The item will not be resellable and must be discarded, which means we cannot issue a full refund. If this occurs, we will contact you with our assessment before processing any refund.

Lost in Transit

If your tracking number shows no movement for 10 or more business days, please contact us. We will open an investigation with the carrier. If the package is confirmed lost, we will issue a full refund or free replacement. We cover all costs for lost in transit packages. Resolution typically takes 5 to 7 business days for carrier investigation.

Delivered But Not Received

Once the carrier marks your package as delivered, we are unable to issue refunds or replacements. Carriers use GPS scanners to record the exact delivery location. If your tracking shows delivered but you cannot find the package, first check with neighbors or anyone else at your address. Wait 1 to 2 business days because carriers sometimes mark packages delivered before the final drop off. Contact the carrier directly with your tracking number to file a missing package report. File a police report if you believe the package was stolen from your property.

We understand this is frustrating. We wish we could offer a different solution. However, because we cannot verify delivery issues beyond carrier records, this policy applies to all orders without exception. To protect yourself, consider using a secure delivery address such as a work address or package locker, or require signature confirmation at checkout.

Order Cancellations

Orders cannot be canceled once placed. Our fulfillment partners begin processing orders immediately after submission. If you contact us within one hour of placing your order, we will do our absolute best to intercept it. However, we cannot guarantee cancellation.

Before clicking Place Order, please double check your shipping address, verify your email address, and confirm you selected the correct product and size. Mistakes in shipping addresses are the customer’s responsibility and are not eligible for refunds if the package is delivered to the wrong address.

Return Shipping Costs

If an item arrived damaged or defective, we pay for return shipping by providing a return label with a 6.95 deduction from your refund. If the wrong item was sent, we pay for return shipping with the same 6.95 deduction. If a customer refuses delivery, the customer pays all shipping costs and any refund will be processed after deducting shipping charges.

For customers outside the United States, return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility. Please contact us before shipping any international return.

Original shipping charges are non refundable for undelivered, unclaimed, returned, or refused packages unless we made an error.

Refund Process

For approved returns, here is the timeline. Once your return is received at our warehouse, inspection takes 2 to 3 business days. Refund processing takes 5 to 7 business days after approval. Your bank may take an additional 2 to 5 business days to show the refund in your account. Total estimated time from return approval to money in your account is 7 to 14 business days.

Refunds are issued back to your original payment method such as credit card or PayPal. We cannot issue refunds to alternate payment methods or as store credit unless you request store credit specifically. If an item shows excessive use or is missing original packaging, we will issue a partial refund after notifying you of our assessment.

Exchanges

We offer direct exchanges only for two situations. First, you received a damaged item and want the same product replaced. Second, you received the wrong item and want the correct item sent. We do not offer exchanges for change of mind or for swapping one fragrance for another. To get a different scent, you would need to complete a new purchase.

Fragile Product Notice

Perfumes and products in glass containers are considered fragile items. While we package every order with care, damage during transit can occur. To protect your purchase, inspect your package immediately upon delivery. Take photos of the outer packaging before opening if possible. Report any damage within 7 days, not weeks later.

A Gentle Reminder

We are a small team of fragrance lovers, not a large retailer. Every return is handled by a real person who genuinely wants you to love your scent. If something arrives damaged, we truly want to make it right. Please be patient with us, and we will be patient with you.

However, please understand that we cannot accept returns simply because you did not enjoy the fragrance. Scent is deeply personal, and what smells like heaven to one person may not suit another. This is why we encourage you to read our layering guides, customer reviews, and fragrance notes before purchasing.

Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this page with the Last Updated date revised accordingly.
